Ensign Peak is one of our favorite hikes!! Not only was it where we spent one of first dates, it was also where Brandon lost his first bet to me :) Because it overlooks the Salt Lake valley, we took turns trying to name the main streets and towns. Where we disagreed, though, was a little plot of land on 700. He thought that the area around the Trolley Square water tower was Holladay - but us "locals" (or more correctly -former- transplants) know that it is actually Sugar House. I won a three course meal cooked by Brandon.....but more than a year later I'm still sans my winnings.
Naturally, it was a priority for us to hike up Ensign on our trip back and that's exactly what we did. First thing in the morning, we caught an Uber up to the trailhead and had an hour just to ourselves. It was a hazy day, but what's a little hike without the famous Utah Inversion right?
