Being the crown jewel of Colorado means that the Maroon Bells tends to attract visitors. So much so, in fact, that park rangers closed the access road into the park from 8am to 5pm when we went in September; the only way to into the park was a shuttle.
We decided to finally visit Maroon Bells in our quest for engagement picture locations. An early morning wake-up (one that Brandon now is all too familiar with), some coffee, and a lot of driving later, we hopped aboard the shuttle with 300 of our closest friends. Quickly, it was apparent to us that we needed another location for our engagement session; but we still took time to appreciate the scenery around us.
PSST: If you are looking to take your engagement pictures here and are driving up from Denver, consider staying in Aspen the night before so you don't have to make the long drive right before pictures. Also, discuss transportation logistics with your photographer given the personal vehicle restriction during parts of the year.
Hikes: Crater Lake
