Hi everyone!!!! Happy Tuesdayyyyyy :) We are so happy that Mr. Sunshine has been out these last few days to warm up the temperatures and melt away alllllllllllllllll (or at least a good majority) of the snow!
We took advantage of a relatively warm 50 degree winter day last weekend to check out South Valley Park in Littleton, CO. Because we typically head to the high country in the summer, we have been using the winter as an opportunity to explore the areas around Ken Caryl, Littleton, and Highlands Ranch. So it should come as no surprise that this hike is in the same general vicinity as the last few hikes that we’ve posted about, specifically the Meadowlark Trail and Waterton Canyon.
Truth be told, I was pretty stir-crazy to get out of the house at this point (I had been sick & in bed for the last two weekends) but wanted something relatively easy since I was still recovering. This trail is the perfect fit! The added bonus is that a lot of the rock formations are very similar to what we saw at Red Rocks when we hiked the Trading Post Loop (minus the world famous amphitheater, of course). Overall, this is a quick, easy trail, with mountain & red rock views, and is dog friendly. So grab a map at the start of the loop and make it as long or short as you feel like! ♡
