We spent the weekend in Palisade and stayed in Grand Junction. In looking for hiking trails in the area, we found that the Colorado National Monument was less than 30 minutes away from our hotel, so we decided to spend our Sunday morning exploring this gorgeous set of canyons. We would highly recommend coming here for sunrise or sunset because it lets you escape the desert-like H O T weather throughout the day. There is hardly any shade and the place is crawling with lizards! It is still worth a visit if you are in the area, so be sure to drive through this gorgeous part of Colorado!
