We caught Jenny Lake in the middle of construction, so the majority of it was roped off from access. We found the lake to be underwhelming - although it was quite popular with the tourists. Because the trail around the lake to the Falls is closed for construction, the Parks Service has set up a shuttle-boat to take tourists across. We skipped it - the lines were quite overwhelming and we did not want to be with a hundred+ tourists in a limited space. We plan to visit it once construction is over, but for now we are not fans of this tourist trap.
